Client:   Altamira
Date:   January 2002
Budget:   $70,000

Challenge:   The client, situated in the fast paced and ever changing financial services industries needed to develop a means of providing their clientele with timely and accurate information. They wanted something that would allow them to reach small niche audiences over the Internet but have the scalability to push content to the masses over broadcast networks.

Solution:   Over three months, an In-House Broadband Studio was engineered and rigorously tested to accommodate both of these requests. The first step was to seriously evaluate the level of content that would be pushed across the Internet (IP Based). Once it had been determined that the Client would be producing a minimum of 5 video segments per week for their website, processes were implemented at as many stages possible to allow the automation of what are otherwise tedious and resource heavy tasks.

The second stage was to provide a simultaneous medium for broadcasting to television networks. ROB-TV wished to utilize this in-house studio so that an Altamira representative within fifteen minutes of request, could be live on-air without having to leave their offices. A fiber-optic connection was implemented as a permanent ingress solution to accommodate this.

The result, Canada's first in-house Broadband studio allowing simultaneous live broadcasting over the Internet and Television. Now a year later, Altamira has produced hundreds of video segments for both their investors and the general broadcast public.
