A natural outgrowth of MAC's popular Food & Wine Festival, the Cape May Wine School takes wine lovers from the vine to the glass and everything in between, with a series of seminars designed to teach or expand your knowledge of wines and the foods they complement.
All classes for the Cape May Wine School are conducted at the Washington Inn, 801 Washington St. (unless otherwise noted), and are held on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The following courses are remaining for the 2002-03
Cape May Wine School:
* Sunday, Oct. 27: The Cape May Winery-Experience the wine making process, plus a tour and tasting at the Cape May Winery
* Sunday, Nov. 24: Born in the U.S.A.-Hand-crafted United States Artisan Cheeses and California Wines
* Sunday, Dec. 29: All in the Bubbly-Champagne to ring in the New Year
* Sunday, Jan. 26: French Whites-Rustic French Wines and Cheese (held at the Pelican Club, 501 Beach Drive)
* Sunday, Feb. 16: The Different Faces of Chardonnay-Learn the art of the winemaker's touch and how it influences the wine
* Sunday, Feb. 23: Trockenbeernauslese-Learn how to read a German wine label and drink the not sticky sweet, but delicious, wine.
* Sunday, Mar. 30: G'day, Australia and New Zealand-Find out why wines from down under are so hot!
* Sunday, April 27: Ciao Italiano-A wine lover's tour of Italy, sampling great wines with unique tastes
* Sunday, May 18: Summer Lovin'-Great summer wines for picnics and BBQ.
The Cape May Wine School is hosted by the Washington Inn and sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). Admission is $15 per class and each class is limited to 50 students.
